What Causes Discomfort During Intercourse?

Hi Im 26 years old & Im in a serious relationship. During intercourse with my bf, when Im on top & sit up completely straight..I feel discomfort. Its only when I lean forward his chest that I feel fine. FYI I have a tilted uterus. Could this be the issue?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Do not worry much with the issue you are facing. As you have stated, you have a tilted uterus which is medically termed as retroverted uterus can give a painful sexual intercourse mostly as a complication. The pain will be most at woman-on-top position during sex. But, it will not cause any complications to the pregnancy.

About 25% of women have a retroverted uterus where the uterus is tipped backward so that its fundus is aimed toward the rectum.

There are few treatment options available like exercises, a pessary or surgery for which you need to consult a gynecologist in the clinic for further evaluation if it is more discomforting.
