What Causes Discomfort And Pain In Neck Post Surgery For Vocal Cord Paralysis?

I had vocal cord paralysis . I had surgery about 4 years ago . Surgery consisted of a 3 inch cut on the front of my neck and implant placement. Time has passed and I am having a some discomfort when turning me neck a certain way and lite pain in my throat at times . What could be causing this?
