What Causes Discomfort After Stopping Anti Depressants?

Hi, i have been taking anti depressants for 6 months, if anything i felt worse. I stopped taking my medication about a week ago without being told by my Dr, i have felt strange since stopping them, not just mentally but also physically. Is this normal?

Some anti depressants can cause withdrawal symptoms upon abrupt stoppage. Especially the short acting drugs, which require multiple dosings. (Unfortunately your query lack the name of the anti depressant). These withdrawal symptoms can be both physical and psychological. But there is no need to be worried as these symptoms are mild and can be easily treated.
My advice to you would be to follow your doctors advice in future and slowly withdraw medicines under supervision.
