What Causes Discoloration Of The Laparoscopy Scar?
Hi, I had a laparoscopy two months ago and the scar has suddenly changed from pale to red. Is this anything to cause alarm. Also at the depth of the belly wound, it also has turned back. Looks like it hasn t joined all the skin back together. I ve been ill and stressed and have lost a stone, always been small, could this be the reason for sudden change?
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. If the scar has changed from pale to red, the wound must be opening again. 2. Blackish areas could be blood clot. 3. The wound appears to be opening due to increased abdominal pressure like cough or lifting weights. The healing is also slow possibly due to malnutrition secondary to stress and illness. 4. Meet your doctor at earliest for closing the wound through sutures or staples. Improve your nutrition particularly vit C. Also serratiopeptidase medication will be helpful. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
