What Causes Difficulty While Drawing Blood Samples?

Hi, I went to the doctors Monday for blood tests but the nurse couldn t get any blood afer trying numerous times and leaving me bruised quite badly on one arm she gave up and asked me to return the following Thursday. My next visit went very much the same as my first so I have now been referred to the hospital to have the blood tests. I have never had any issues before and I m a little worried. They reasons for the tests a weight gain so I wondered if maybe the 2 are connected? Thanks

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Weight can result in the deposition of fat and other tissues that may make it difficult to access the blood because it reduces the view of the veins but would not directly cause the problem.

It may also be related to the person who is taking the blood at the time.

I hope this helps
