What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing?

I had a hard time swallowing a piece of steak. I couldn't breath for a short time, but then got the steak down. It hurt going down, and my chest (sternum area) continues to hurt. Is it possible that this meat went into my lungs? I was able to eat a little more (after this episode) but my worries ruined my appetite. Should I go to the doctor to check out my lungs?

Hello dear , hi

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* This seems in relation with minor inflammation issue at esophagus level
rather than issue with the lungs .

* Guidelines for better recovery

- Drink plenty of liquids .
- Prefer soft , light diet .
- Avoid hard stuffs to be chewed , non veg , dairy fat .
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water 3 times a day with added
peppermint oil .

* After 48 hours of above if problem persists , then consult your doctor .

Hope this will help you for sure .

Wishing you fine recovery .
Regards dear take care .
