Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Sometimes when I eat, I have trouble swallowing, and food seems to get stuck in my throat and I end up Spitting up spit until it finally goes down. What is this? I m not vomiting or choking, but just spitting up because things get stuck in my throat.
If you had trouble swallowing once or twice, this is not something to worry about, but if you are having it on a regular basis, then I think that there is something going wrong with the throat or the esophagus. It makes me thing that the nerves and the muscles that help the food go done, are not working properly. I do highly recommend you to go in the hospital and see an internist Gastroenterologist to check with an apparatus the situation in your throat. Maybe they will have to make you an invasive diagnostic procedure such as a Esophageal endoscopia, where they enter a tube and see the situation in your esophagus. I wish you all the best.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best Regards, Dr. Eni
