Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain difficulty in swallowing, reduced mouth opening and also ear pain can be all related to jaw joint dysfunction also known as TMJ or TMD..

It can also be due to any deeply decayed tooth that is causing inflammation of soft tissues, muscle tightness and Cellulitis..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination and investigation like Panoramic x ray can help in ruling out the exact cause and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen..
You can also take muscle relaxant like Chlorzoxasone or Tizanidine..
Take a soft diet and avoid eating hard foods..
You should also try to gently open the mouth much as possible under limits of pain tolerance to prevent further reduction in mouth opening.

The Dentist can however give you antibiotics if there is Infection and also use a mouthgag to gradually increase your mouth opening..

For further discussion you can ask a direct questions by going to my profile and click on "Ask me a question"..
Upload your x-rays also so that we can discuss in detail and I can guide you how to proceed for the most appropriate treatment..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
