What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing While Suffering From Parkinson S Disease?

Swallowing difficulty when you have Parkinsons Disease. Have had esphogus stretched in Feb. 2017 & still experiencing difficulty swallowing. Have had tests done & there is nothing to show but I have Parkinson Disease & just wondering if that can cause a problem.

Hi, I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Answer: Yes, difficulty in swallowing (dysphasia) is one of the complications that occurs at some point in majority of patients with Parkinson’s disease.

The exact mechanism for this problem is not well understood.
