What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing Food?

My husband started eating a sandwich at work today and couldn t swallow it. He choked and through it back up. He continued to through up and choke even on liquid. This was hours ago and he is still very gaggy and can t even keep liquid s down. He is describing to me like he s having trouble swallowing his saliva. He said he has a feeling like there is something still stuck. He can breathe and speak etc. Is it possible he strained the muscle in his throat? If he sets still it seems to be ok but he can t eat or drink anything.

It can be a problem in tooth tongue and inflammation of throat. Get checked by ENT specialist. Start warm saline gargling. Get dental checkup done by dental surgeon. It is deglutition problems may be weakness of muscles involved. Can take bland diet and soft food. Can be having anxiety neurosis with due rest taking soft food he will be alright. Tongue pharynx and throat are involved in swallowing.
