Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing After Performing Oral Sex?
Hello, I performed oral sex for the first time last week and two days later I noticed that it hurt to swallow whenever drank or ate something. I have a history of cold sores, though i never contracted them from someone I have always had them from when i was a child. So my question is could my problem now be from the oral sex or a cold sore in the back of my throat?
Difficulty in swallowing can occur due to some pathology in throat or esophagus. Cold sore occurring in throat could be the cause of difficulty in swallowing. Oral sex can lead to transmission of STDs and hence the cold sore could be due to sexual activity. You need to consult your venerologist and get tested for STDs.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
