What Causes Diarrhea And Abdominal Discomfort?

I have been having watery stools in the last four days after travelling from my country I West Africa to East Africa. As usual I have taking flagil combined with tetracycline. I still experience watery stooling and lots of abdominal growling. What could be the cause and cure?

Hi,

You must have contacted infective diarrhea, which is causing passage of watery stools. Since you are still passing watery stools and having abdominal discomfort even after taking antibiotics, there is a possibility that the organisms causing it could be resistant to those group of antibiotics.

Kindly change the antibiotic by taking a combination of Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. This should help you to overcome the problem. Drink good quality of water and oral rehydration solution to keep yourself hydrated.
