Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Diarrhea Along With Stomach Ache And Vomiting?
I had diarea around 5pm. Then I vomitted twice around 6pm. My stomach hurts, also my back. I went to bed around 8pm and slept for 2 hours. I have been getting up with pain every hour since then. This must be a virus..... or something that I ate. I feel like urinating, but nothing comes out. I think I will try to sip a cold small glass of 7Up. Can you give me any other suggestions?
- rest more
- take plenty of fluids especially plain water with oral rehydration salts to keep well hydrated
- take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora
- take tasectan or Pepto Bismol for diarrhoea
- take antacids to stabilize stomach pH
- have BRAT diet (banana, rice, applesauce, toast).
If still no improvement in a couple of days should consult further with your caring doctor as might need intravenous therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
