What Causes Development Of Brown Crusts Around Navel?

I've been having problems lately with a brown crust around my belly button. It's also red and is excreting a white fluid. I've had this problem before and in the end a big clump of dog hair came out, could it be the same problem again? And if so how can I get it out?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
the history said by you suggest more of an infection.
the infection may be caused by pathogens of any foreign substance causing inflammation.
I would advise to
consult your physician and get examined if any foreign substance present, and if so get removed under aseptic condition.
taking a course of antibiotic such as cefexime along with antacid would help a lot.
local cleaning with mild antiseptic solution would add to the help.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
I find this answer helpful
