Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Im 19.i have a l lump at my breast near the nipple.i dont feel any pain.no discharge and all.it s size changes according to my menstrual cycle.and can be moved.getting bigger near to the first day period and eventually smaller during the period.is this because of my hormone?is it fibroadenoma?can i just cure this by taking pill or any medication?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Lump in the breast what you are describing seems to be 'fibroadenoma'. It is a non-cancerous tumor composed of fibrous and glandular tissue. It cannot be cured by taking any medication. They are partially hormone-dependent and usually regress after menopause. Most fibroadenoma are left untreated and monitored. Only some of them, which increase in size or for cosmetic reasons may require surgical excision. In case you need to confirm the diagnosis, you can get a fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) done. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
