What Causes Depression While On Risperidone?
Yes my husband is bipolar and is on Risperidone 6mg it really helps with his mood swings before they were bad but he seems depressed I talked to his Dr about this & he said we could try Celexa a low dose to go along with the Resprodne what do you think?

In bipolar mood disorder atypical antipsychotic and mood stabilizer drug usually used
Risperidone is atypical antipsychotic drug and having good effect in bipolar mood disorder
Another drug if needed lithium carbonate also useful
If depression predominate in bipolar mood disorder then as per doctor advise low dose citalopram can be used

Behavioural counselling also will be beneficial along with medication
