What Causes Delayed Periods?

I had sex with my boyfriend on 17th July. We used a condom. But fearing for unexpected pregnancy I took Postinor 2 the next day. It was 2 pills, so one pill on 18th and another after 12 hours. On 7th August I had my period. Now it s 20th Sep and I haven t got my period yet. Am I pregnant ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

If you have unprotected intercourse history after first time sex than rule out pregnancy by hcg card test which will positive if conception occurs

If pregnancy not present than rule out diabetes and thyroid problem by RBS and serum TSH estimation

Excess stress avoided

Obesity, excess exercise and prolonged fasting can lead delayed period

If still no cause clear than Hormonal imbalance evaluated through Hormonal profile and accordingly drug given for that

If needed USG done for further work up

Take care

Consult gynecologist for examination
