What Causes Delayed Periods With Negative Result In HPT?

I am almost 2 months late with my cycle. My symptoms are nausea- no vomiting, light lower back pain from time to time, more tired than usual, urinating a little more frequently, abdomen is somewhat bloated. I took a pregnancy test 3 weeks ago and it was negative. I do have irregular cycles. What could be the problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Delay in getting periods with having symptoms of pregnancy and negative tests for pregnancy needs a proper evaluation.
Kindly get an ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis done. Two conditions that needs to be ruled out are ectopic pregnancy and hormonal imbalance as a result of polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD).
Kindly consult Gynecologist with the report for appropriate evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
