What Causes Delayed Periods Along With Tenderness In The Breast?

Hi, I am a 33 year old female who had the Essure procedure done 2 years ago this Month(February). I haven t had my period yet this month which is not normal, usually I have had it by now. I have been experiencing, tender breast, they get harder at times, I have had abdominal cramping like I m going to start my period and still nothing for about the past two weeks now. The tender breast has went away right now, I am tired, very irritable, back pains, trouble sleeping and last few days I have started getting nauseas. I was just curious what it might be.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Every time a woman is missing her period the first thing to do is a pregnancy test as this is the most likely cause. If the pregnancy test comes out negative you can repeat it in 3-4 days. If it persists to be negative then you can wait for another 1-2 weeks. If the periods are not coming you will need to see a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
