What Causes Delayed Period While Suffering From Irregular Periods?

In September I didn t get my period at all my last period was on 08/18/15 I have really irregular periods and I m sexual active and my husband uses protection most of the time but never penetrantes inside me I was suppose to get my period on 10/1/15 I have this app on my phone that calcutes my period since I m irregular. Should I take a pregnancy test of wait a little longer ? Please help

If you have doubt to be pregnant, you can go for home pregnancy test after 8-10 days delay from expected date of period.
