What Causes Delayed Period After Having Sexual Intercourse?

hi Dr I dont have my period yet but. Yesterday I put a tampon on and it was there for 6 hours and when i took it out it was quite painful. I had intercourse pretty much right after and i felt dried, uncomfortable and didnt lubricate much. was that normal?

It can be normal for the period to delay sometimes for some days. If the time of the expected period delays more then 1 week, consider doing a pregnancy test, to rule out pregnancy.
If the test comes negative you don't need to worry about, if you don't have other symptoms. Stress, diet, or other things affect the hormonal systems, and may change the duration of the periods interval from 21-35 days, and that is normal.

It is also normal for a woman to have different amount of vaginal secretions during the month. The type and amount of secretions depends also from the hormonal system. If you start having smelly discharge, with yellow or green color, and you have pain during sexual intercourse then you should consider a visit to your gynecologist who will do to you some labs to determine if you have an infection and give the correct treatment. From what you are describing, that doesn't seem the case, so if you continue with the same symptoms, I would not be worried about it.
