General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The usual development milestones indicate vocabulary of more than 200 words and framing of 2-3 word sentences at an age of 2 years and 6 months age. Likewise normal sitting at 6 months and walking at 12 months are also delayed. The speech and other motor as well as cognitive functioning indicate developmental disorder as:
- Genetic or chromosomal conditions
- Maternal thyroid issues
- Developmental issues with cerebral cortex centers of speech
- Early deficiency of nutrients, hormone deficiency through pituitary or hypothalamus dysfunction

In my clinic, I do recommend a detailed neurology examination of the child with all motor, sensory abilities, audiometry for hearing issue and further guidance accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
