What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Having Negative UPT?

my wife take a prega news pregnency test just after 3 days of her due date of menstruation. The urine was collected in a plastic container at 3-30pm. The result was clearly shown negative. But till now her menstruation is not clear. Her last menstruation date was 7th july. prega news test was done 6th Aug. at 3-30pm.What do i do now?
