What Causes Delay In Periods And Thick White Discharge Despite Having Safe Sex?

Hi, I am 5 days late, have increased thick, white discharge, and it hurts in my left abdominal region. I only have protected sex, and my boyfriend never ejaculates into me, so I doubt that I m pregnant, also no STDs between the two of us. It s not a yeast infectiob either, because I don t feel any itching or burning. Please help!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Your periods could have been delayed due to hormonal alterations. Many a times, in such condition, thick discharge happens before the periods begin. You may expect the periods to begin shortly.
Since you had protected intercourse, pregnancy could be only a remote possibility.
Relax and you can wait for another 3 to 5 days for periods to happen.
Kindly take a urine pregnancy test in case there is further delay and consut Gynecologist for evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
