What Causes Delay In Periods After Taking Clomid?

okay i am on medroxyprogesterone too 5mg the first 12 days of march, was given clomid 50 mg i took on by mistake the first day of period, thinking it was the third day bleeding was light, after i had taken on the 20th of march the period was heavy so obviously it was the first day it only last three days, well i took the medroxyprogesterone again on April 1-12 again i had appointment with doctor the 17th of april he prescribed me Clomid again at 100 mg this time and did a cyst exam and took pregancy test both were negative. so I went again to the nurse and a pregancy test was given and it was negative. My concern is i have not had a period since March 20 thru the 23 and have been waiting so i can take the clomid again, yet on the 17th and the 23rd of april i had taken pregnancy tests and both were negative. Wondering what my next steps should be.

Hi,

Closed is a medicine to induce ovulation when given following periods from day 5 to 99th. When taken at proper time, it induces ovulation and pregnancy can take place or periods start from day 27th to 30th. But it fails to induce ovulation when taken at wrong time (as in your case it was taken on day 1st of periods).

In such a case periods do not start. All of this is due to hormonal imbalance in menstrual cycle. Please consult a gynecologist for prescription of pills to induce bleeding and advising cyclical treatment of hormones for 3 consecutive months, to correct the imbalance created.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
