What Causes Delay In Menstruation After Missing A Depo Shot?
I was on the depo shot in February I took it on the 16th I was supposed to go back in May second to get the shot again I didn t I had a period June 6 till around the 10th I have sex on June 21st this is July 19th and I still haven t had a period what s wrong with me
I would suggest you to take a pregnancy test since you have mentioned missed period and also history of sexual intercourse. Depo shot can also alter your menstrual cycles in the first three to six months of use.
In case of a positive pregnancy test, Depo injection should be avoided. You should visit your doctor for further management.Medical options are available if you do not want to continue your pregnancy. Pelvic ultrasound ,thyroid test may be required in order to rule out hormonal imbalance.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
