What Causes Deep-vein Thrombosis While On Tranexa?

Hi, I took 5 (125-250 mg) doses of Tranexa due to some bleeding I experienced while I had dengue (I am currently traveling in India). I took the last dose of Tranexa on 2 September and I am scheduled for a series of long-haul flights from India back to the west coast of the US starting on 7 September. Should I be worried about experiencing deep-vein thrombosis while on my flights due to the blood clotting effects of the Tranexa?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not related to tranexa.

A detailed evaluation is required.

You might require blood thinners like heparin or clexane.

DVT stockings also are useful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
