What Causes Deep Bruised Dent On Forehead After An Injury?

My one year old daughter fell off of the bed and hit he forehead on a sharp corner and has a deep bruised dent in it now. I m scared and don t know what to do. I rubbed it and it s not as deep anymore but its still there and I m in tears. What do I do?

The bruised dent you mentioned is due to the fall injury and will gradually disappear. There is no need to worry on that account. However if your daughter shows any signs of altered consciousness, neck rigidity, vomiting or any other feature suggestive of damage to head, skull or brain functions then you need to take her to a hospital where she will be completely evaluated and may be a CT scan or MRI may have to done to ensure that there is no damage to the internal structures.
