What Causes Dark Red Blood With Bowel Motion?

My father has been really sick the past few days and he had a migraine the first day and took some medicine. All he has done today is laied in bed not being able to do anything. He has been pooping dark red blood the past few days. What could be wrong?

Blood on stool indicate any infection or inflammation in digestive tract.

Do stool examination test for check which type of infections is present. Mostly intestinal infection may cause blood in stool.

Sometime anal poly or fissure may cause blood in stool.Gastritis problem may cause blood in stool.

Colonoscopy may done for further diagnosis.
Avoid spicy foods.
Drink more water.
Avoid alcohol drinking.
