What Causes Dark Blood After Having An Intercourrse?

After having sexual inter course last night, right after I went to the bathroom to cleanup & when I wiped myself I saw darkish blood. I thought it was my period but the next day I saw nothing, no blood at all. I am on birth control but I do not always take my pill as I am supposed to ... Could it be the pill or could it be implantation bleeding ?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

An implantation bleed does not take place immediately after sexual intercourse. The dark blood could have been from the process of sexual intercourse itself. But there are a few conditions that can cause bleeding during or immediately after sexual intercourse and so I would recommend a doctors visit which should include a physical examination and a speculum examination as well to look for and rule out any lesions.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
