What Causes Cysts In The Bone Of Toes After An Injury?

My 16 Year old daughter injured her foot 7/5/16 while dancing. I brought her to urgent care diagnosed as a sprain --- went to orthopedic today because was swollen and bruised top of toes from 2nd toe to small toe and on top as well as in her arch Doc took additional xrays and say 3 cysts in the bone by her toes but feels could still be fractured at the top scheduled an mri -- I am concerned about cysts is this common? I had a cyst 10 years ago and treated It w physical theraphy. Is this hereditary? She just went for her well check up and did hemoglobian test all was fine with that.
