What Causes Cut Underneath My Lip After Kissing?

Hello Doctor i am a virgin,i am 24 yrs of age...and in a loving and serious relationship with a great guy for almost one year(9months)nw. We both have agreed and seen the need to abstain from sex up until marriage eventhough he was sexually active before we met...however,rarely though,we have been tempted to kiss and extremely few times it has been deep. my biggest fear has been the fact that neither of us have had medical tests and when i confronted him with it,he said its ok. However,he hopes to relocate to a different country bt expects to be back so we can tie the knots...well,i suggested he does the test again when he returns but he got pissed when i suggested that, saying it seems i expect him to cheat on me while he is there, hence i do nt trust him that much...reason why i need us to go for the test now and when he returns too; before we get married. Recently,we kissed and eventhough it lasted for few mins,we noticed it gave me a cut/bruise underneath my top lip...it really got me perturbed. my questions are; -am i asking for too much if i request that we go for a medical test now and when he returns, right before we get married? -how best can i open the request again to him or do i wait up untill d embassy request he goes 4a medical test as part of the process for obtaining thier citizenship -and what are the essential medical tests that we both should go for? i am rlly worried and will be delighted if my mail is given an urgent reply! thanx in advance! sharlet002@gmail

Hello Sharlet and welcome.

It is indeed offensive to an individual who is actually trying to be honest and committed. I would advise you to avoid asking him the question again, but at the same time try to avoid sexual contact.

Kissing should not be a problem, and you can go ahead with this. All embassies check for sexually transmitted infections, and so I would urge you to be patient and wait until he gets his medical conducted to enter the country.

Be patient and trust him within your best capabilities. Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
