General & Family Physician, Dr. B M Gupta's Response
Welcome Pregnancy/ovulation is unlikely.so do not worry. Cramping/ brown discharge is normal during the first few periods. But it may take up to 3 to 6 months to get the problem settle down. As birth control pills are hormones, Our body have to make the equilibrium with these external hormones. One more thing is, you have to strictly take the these birth control pill at a specific same time every day. You have to choose to take this pills at time of day that is easier for you to remember. Else fix the time in after your evening meal or at bedtime may help if you have stomach upset or nausea with the medication. Taking at varied times regularly makes these pills ineffective and possibly you will become pregnant. Thus follow a regular schedule. Take care.
