What Causes Coughing Up Of Greenish Mucus?
I think I have either bronchitis or pneumonia. I definitely have or had the flu last week. I have antibiotics on hand (smz/tmp tab 800-160), would trees relieve the respiratory sxs? I ve been coughing up green/grey vile tasting mucus, no red streaks. Before you ask,the meds are mine. I had a uti about 2 months ago and this antibiotic was not the best one for the organism causing problem so my MD prescribed a different med.

Greenish mucus is more suggestive of lung infection (pneumonia) due to Pseudomonas infection. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done a clinical examination of the respiratory system and chest x-ray. Chest x-ray is must for the diagnosis of pneumonia.
You will need a higher antibiotic like (azithromycin, Augmentin), cough expectorant, mucolytic and other supportive treatment.
