Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
MY SON IS 16. HE HAS ANXIETY AND ASTHMA. HE IS 6 1 AND 270LBS. HE PLAYS FOOTBALL. HE HAS STARTED AWAKENING AT NIGHT HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING AND THEN VOMITING. HE WAS FINE UNTIL THIS LAST SINUS INFECTION AROUND MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. HE WAS PRESCRIBED A ZPACK AND TESSLON PEARLS. EVER SINCE THEN HE HAS COUGHED A FEW TIMES AND THEN VOMITS. HE ONLY COUGHS ONCE OR TWICE. HE VOMITIS AT LEAST DAILY. HE NEVER DID THIS BEFORE.
Noted the history about your 16 year old son having asthma and anxiety, vomits daily particularly after coughing and has breathlessness. The commonest cause of breathlessness is obviously asthma and if you get him treated well by oral Deriphyllin, oral steroids, inhalers then the breathless may be controlled. This will also helps to sleep well. And may also control vomiting, if not give him prescription based medicines for vomiting too.Consult a Doctor for all these things and also for the anxiety issue. Since the boy is young, he needs proper counselling by you and Doctors as this will help with psychological factors.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
