What Causes Cough Triggered By A Tickle In Throat?

Can coughing be a reaction to drinking Coke? I ve had a very violent, unproductive cough for several months that seems to be triggered by a tickle in my throat. I also often choke when eating or drinking. I ve noticed I often cough after drinking caffeinated soda drinks, although there are other triggers as well, including inhaling cold winter air. I have no other signs of a cold.

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I reviewed your history.

Coughing during drinking fluids or eating indicates entry of food into the respiratory tract. You need to be careful and slow while eating. Since you are not having any symptoms of cold or infection no need to worry.

Hope this information is helpful.
