What Causes Cough And Throat Discomfort After Insertion Of Cardiac Stents?

My husband had two heart stents put in on March 1. He was doing well, then on March 14 he came down with what was diagnosed as a U.T.I. At Redicare, they put him on Cipro. He has five days left of the script. My concern is that for about 4 days he has been coughing. He says he is not short of breath and has no pain or pressure, but he sounds like he does when his asthma/allergies are bothering him. Raspy voice, scratchy throat, frequent non-productive cough. Could this be a side effect of Cipro? Or, Effient, the new blood thinner? Or a combination? He also takes Lisinopril and Pravachol.
