Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Does the vomiting always follows coughing, or happens otherwise also? Is there any history of allergic diseases in the family (like asthma, food allergy, nose allergy)?

It is common for children to vomit after a bout of coughing. Often the vomitus contains white coloured mucus. But, this may not always suggest phlegm coming from chest. Most of the time, this is mucus coming out of mouth and stomach during vomiting. Anyhow, if there are repeated episodes of vomiting or cough following intake of milk or a particular food item, we have to rule out food allergy. Kindly discuss with your pediatrician

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
