What Causes Continuous Vomiting After Eating?

Son vomiting continuous, today all he ate to cause it was a sandwich (no seeds in bread) but swiss cheese and turkey meat. He was told he has chrons but not a bad case of it, slightly saw something in his tests with the specialist. The only thing helping so far is nausea pills which I am trying to get prescribed by my doctor like they did in the ER in October. Can the cheese cause this ?

Hi,

There are several possible causes for continuous vomiting after eating, including food poisoning, viral gastroenteritis, medication side effects, or underlying medical conditions such as Crohn's disease.

In your son's case, his Crohn's disease may be causing his symptoms. Crohn's disease is an inflammatory bowel disease that can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. Certain foods, such as dairy or fatty foods, can trigger symptoms in people with Crohn's disease. Swiss cheese is a high-fat food that could potentially cause symptoms in someone with Crohn's disease, although it's also possible that something else in the sandwich was the trigger.

Your son needs to follow up with his specialist and discuss his symptoms. His specialist may recommend further testing or adjust his treatment plan to better manage his symptoms. In the meantime, he needs to stay hydrated and avoid any trigger foods that could worsen his symptoms. If his vomiting persists or he experiences other concerning symptoms, he should seek medical attention right away.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

There are several potential causes of continuous vomiting after eating, including food intolerance, food poisoning, gastroenteritis, gastroparesis, and other gastrointestinal disorders. In the case of your son, his underlying Crohn's disease could also be a contributing factor.

Swiss cheese and turkey meat are not typically known to cause vomiting unless there is an underlying food intolerance or allergy. However, it is possible that the cheese or meat could have been contaminated with harmful bacteria, causing food poisoning.

Your son needs to follow up with his specialist regarding his Crohn's disease and any potential gastrointestinal issues. It may also be helpful to keep a food diary to track what he eats and any associated symptoms to identify potential triggers for his vomiting.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
