What Causes Constipation And Diarrhea After Taking Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment?

HI there, I have recently been diagnosed with BV. I took vaginal gel treatment for 5 days. Since then( 2 weeks) I am experiencing dull pain in my lower abdomen along with burning sensation. It is pretty consistant. No pain during sexual intercourse. I have slight tenderness in my bladder as well. Also have experience a combination of diarrhea and constipation . Is this because BV is still present?

Hi thanks for asking question.
Here mostly 2 possibilities present.
1.You might have pelvic inflammatory disease secondary to genital tract infection like bacterial vaginosis.
Do ultrasound examination and complete blood examination for it.
2.Second you both have diarrhea and constipation so it might be functional bowel disease like irritable bowel syndrome.
Take probiotics tablet and lubiprostone like specific drug can be given.constipation or diarrhea treated accordingly.
3.You might have simple enteritis that might be viral or bacterial.Drink more water with frui juices.If bacterial enteritis suspected then antibiotic useful.

So ultrasonography will be helpful to you in further investigation.
