What Causes Constipation And Bleeding In The Anus?

Hello this has been happening every other day not daily, when i go to the bathroom and take a poop when i wipe i see faint bleeding on the tissue paper. Also it kinda itches and burns a little afterwards. But i have no trouble sitting or through the day. What may this be?, also im embarrased to go to the doctor.

Please don't be embarrassed to speak with your doctor about blood in your stool! It can be a sign of more serious disease! In your case, the most likely cause is hemorrhoids (very common, also can cause itching) since you are only seeing it on the toilet paper, and not in the bowel. You can try some Preparation H cream (can pick up at local pharmacy).

However, if you are over 50 years old and live in the US then please make sure you get your screening colonoscopy (looking for colon cancer). Bleeding can sometimes be a sign of cancer, so please speak with your doctor and get checked out!
