What Causes Constant Urge To Urinate And Pressure Feeling On Bladder?

I feel like I have to urinate badly, but then when I go, there isn t much urine. I feel like my bladder is completely full, and I m about to burst. The last time I felt like this I ended up with kidney stones. I don t have any pain in the back, but do feel almost like someone is pushing on my bladder, then it eases, then it feels like someone is pushing on my bladder again. Almost a pulsating feeling like its being squeezed, let go, then squeezed again. Maybe a bladder infection?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hello,

Since there is no age or sex mentioned, so it is a bit difficult to give a clear response. Because in men above the age of 50 or 55 years some people develop benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) which affects urine flow. Secondly, if there is urinary tract infection frequency does go up, but invariably there is burning pain also is accompanied.

In undetected diabetes or uncontrolled diabetes too urine frequency increases, but there is stopping of urine flow. In case urinary stones (urolithiaisis) there is severe abdominal pain experienced if the stone tries to move out of kidney or in the ureter. So you may get a ultra sonography done of the abdomen including lower abdomen and check for blood glucose also and check if there is urinary infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar, Diabetologist
