What Causes Constant Salty Taste In The Mouth?

Thanks have had a salty taste in my mouth for about a month now. My Crestor prescription was changed in January. And I wonder that could cause. Although I have had a little bit of gingivitis which did not bring on the taste. It has been going on for a while and did not have the taste before starting the generic Crestore

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Salty taste in mouth can be due to gum infection or Gingivitis that can cause pus and blood discharge that can cause salty taste..

Other causes can be severe dehydration, any medication that can be causing side effects, post nasal drip etc..

If you are taking Crestor then it can cause dry mouth that can cause salty taste..
And you too have an idea that the taste was not before taking Crestor so it is probably the side effect of Crestor..

So it is better to consult your Physician and discuss your symptoms so that he can change from generic Crestor to a standard commercial brand..
It will hopefully give you relieve..

If still symptoms does not reduce then dose titration can be done..
For now drink plenty of water, chew sugar free chewing gum..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
