What Causes Constant Diarrhea And Vomiting?

My daughter keeps getting pinworms and we treat it with the over the counter meds. For the past year she has also been vomiting followed by one or two bouts of diarrhea. This will last 1-2 hours then she will be fine. She had H. Pylori last year but it was cured. When checking if it was cured through a endoscopy they also checked her for Celiac s. She no longer has H. Pylori and she does not have Celiac s. She is still vomiting. The nurse practitioner said she might be constipated in the upper part of her intestines and not showing constipation in her bowel movements. We went today for an xray and don t have the results yet. I m going to take her in tomorrow because I saw she had pinworms again tonight and don t want to give her the same OTC meds again. Could the possible constipation, vomiting and diarrhea, and the pinworms be related?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to a parasite infection. I suggest doing a stool test to confirm the presence of the pinworms.

If the diagnosis is confirmed, the treatment consists of Mebendazole for three days.

The treatment should be repeated for twice or three days for a complete result.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
