What Causes Consistent Abdominal Cramps And Pain After Undergoing Enema Surgery?
my son who is 2 had received an air enema operation to reverse his intussusception, saturday i called the ER due to his consistent abdominal cramping and he was saying that his belly hurt. they told me that it was most likely air. though I have yet to return to the ER he is still saying once in a while at least 5x a day the last 3 days that his belly hurts. he has been acting off. he ll be fidgety then he ll he ll be completely distant he s been sweaty, clingy and has yet to poop since wednesday the previous week. he only pees a couple (2-3) times a day the last few days and his stomach looks to be unusually bloated.
The unusual bloating of stomach with significant belly discomfort and inability to pass stool indicates congenital disorder of gut development most likely. The recent work up with an X-ray of the abdomen, ultrasound with or without CT scan are of paramount importance in this matter. Surgery is a requirement in many of the instances, however, clinician approach of pediatric surgeon is best decision maker.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
