What Causes Confusion And Poor Memory While On Insulin?

My mom was recently put in Rehab & care facility to recover from Diabetic soars. She has always taken diabetic medication in pill form, but there, they are giving her insulin. She s constantly disoriented, confused, asks same questions every five minutes and forgets she s been there for 2 weeks. She thinks she just arrived. Could this be symptoms of the insulin, or pain meds, or what?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
If her sugars are too low it could be from the insulin. If her sugars are not low then it is more likely from the pain medicines or just from being in a strange environment of the rehab facility.
Regards
