What Causes Coldness In The Feet Of A Diabetic Patient?

Hello. My friend have type 2 diabetes and I was wondering if the symptoms in my feet have anything to do with diabetes. Her feet get cold several times during the day and night. Summer and winter they feel like a block of ice. When this happens, her toes hurt so badly I can she is almost in tears. The pain in her toes wake her up in the middle of the night because her feet are cold. When she warms her feet the pain goes away. Could it just be diabetes or something else going on with her feet? Looking for any sign of relief.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
These symptoms are due to diabetic peripheral neuropathy which is a complication of long standing uncontrolled diabetes.
What to do...
Control your blood sugar levels immaculately.
Take VIT B12 injections
Take VIT D
You can take medicines like PREGABLIN and DULOXETINE.
It is really difficult to treat diabetic neuropathy but a proper treatment can provide substantial relief to the patient.
Thanks
