What Causes Cold Arms?

I am 85 years old (a healthy 85)....I returned from a long walk this afternoon and took a nap..... I was sleeping for less than 20 min when I was awakened by the fact that both of my arms were ice cold to the touch.....no numbness just cold. This has never happened before should I be concerned?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Cold arms could be due to arm compression and reduced circulation.
2. Not to worry.
3. If you are not sure, get a skin temperature, it should be normal. I would not suspect a sudden hypothyroidism at this age. If even your legs are cold, then other systemic causes can be thought of.
4. Its only arms, probably due to reduced activity during sleep.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
