Nothing to worry. Tonsillitis and adenoid hypertrophy may associated with pharyngitis. After adeno-tonsillectomy , pharyngitis may persistor recurr which may also leads to Eustachian tube dysfunction and ear infection. Stop smoking. Take antibiotic, antibiotic gurgle like providone iodine 2%, avoid cold.
