What Causes Clogging Of One Of The Ears?

The last 2 days I have had one ear that whenever someone talks to me, it sounds like they are talking through a fan. I have had colds with clogged or muffled hearing in one ear before but this time it is different. I got over a sinus cold a week ago (though it drug on for about 2 weeks) and my ear was feeling clogged/muffled at that time. That has been gone with the cold for a week now and then yesterday my ear started sounding like everyone talking to me was a robot or talking through a fan, out of one ear. I have no pain or anything. Any ideas?

Hello,

Most probably it is due to ear wax.

As a first line management, you can use waxolyte drops for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult an ENT specialist and evaluated.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
